You can hardly read a marketing blog post, skim a marketing publication, or read a marketing email without hearing about the importance of personalization in today’s marketplace. Now, with Wise’s new HP 6K Digital Label Press, we are offering personalized labels, as well. Whether long or short run, we can personalize it. But “personalization” is not a one-size-fits-all approach. Read on to see four different approaches to suit a variety of marketing needs.
One-Off Personalization
With our HP 6K Digital Label Press, we can produce truly personalized labels in runs as short as one. If customers want to allow their buyers to “create their own” products, complete with labels printed with their names, faces, or unique designs, we can do that. If one of your corporate customers wants to create gift boxes with labels personalized to each attendee at a conference or seminar, we can do that, too. With one-off personalization, there are many creative options!
Randomized Production
With randomization, each label is unique, even if it’s not designed for a specific recipient. Wise offers two types of randomization using specialized software that comes with our HP 6K Digital Label Press:
HP SmartStream Mosaic: With Mosaic, we start with a single base design (the more colorful and complex the better). We take elements of that design and rotate, scale, and transpose different sections (even change the colors) to create an infinite number of variations.
HP SmartStream Collage: With Collage, we follow the same process, just starting with “seed” elements rather than a base design. As with Mosaic, those elements can be rotated, scaled, and transposed to create an infinite number of variations.
Whether using Mosaic or Collage, the result is the same: a powerful, eye-catching retail display that allows shoppers to pick the product with the label that most speaks to them.
Hyper-Customization
With hyper-customization, the runs can be so short and customized that they truly feel personal. Or there can be so many individual iterations that it might appear to the buyer that each is unique. Good examples are soda cans with different first names on them or a series of short-run beer cans each featuring a different college football team.
Prototyping/Samples/Test Runs
If your customers manufacture products, the ability to create samples and protypes is critical. Designs that look perfect in a flat proof or die line may look very different once applied to the substrate. Likewise, a product that seems to be a sure win might flounder once it actually hits the marketplace. Prototypes and short test runs are critical to successful product launches, and with our HP 6K Digital Label Press, they are a breeze to create.
