Security Papers
Defensa® Basic
With invisible fibers that can only be seen under UV light, plus chemical alteration indicators, Defensa® Basic provides a foundation for your security paper needs.
Defensa® SecurityGate®
With an artificial printed watermark, Defensa® SecurityGate® adds an extra level of protection on top of the multiple security features present in the Defensa® Basic product. Customers may even create a custom watermark.
Defensa® True
With a true Fourdrinier watermark, Defensa® True has all the features of basic, and the added protection of the true watermark. This is the grade that will meet your customer’s needs and lead you to securing that consistent large volume business.
Defensa® Design
With a true Fourdrinier watermark, Defensa® Design features several levels of security including a 2-bar pattern with bleachable ink embedded fibers and a multi-language invisible void feature. This product is manufactured in both white and colors to allow maximum flexibility for customer needs.
Defensa® Premium
With the highest level of security available, Defensa® Premium provides multiple features such as a Fourdrinier watermark, full chemical reactivity, and both visible and invisible embedded fibers.
In Paper Security Features
True Fourdrinier Watermarks
A true Fourdrinier watermark is a watermark that is pressed into the paper at the mill and is visible from either side when held to the light. This dual-tone watermark provides instant authenticity of the document and is virtually impossible to replicate, copy or scan.
Bleach and Oxidizer reactivity
This measure protects against alteration by changing color when exposed to bleach & oxidizer. Providing easy recognizable signs of attempted alteration.
Polar class solvent reactivity
(approximately 30 solvents)
This measure protects against alteration by changing color when exposed to polar class solvent reactivity (approx 30 solvents). Providing easy recognizable signs of attempted alteration.
Non-polar class solvent reactivity
(approximately 35 solvents)
This measure protects against alteration by changing color when exposed to non-polar class solvent reactivity (approx 35 solvents). Providing easy recognizable signs of attempted alteration.
Acid reaction
This measure protects against alteration by changing color when exposed to acid. Providing easy recognizable signs of attempted alteration.
Base reaction
This measure protects against alteration by changing color when exposed to a base. Providing easy recognizable signs of attempted alteration.
Printloc® Toner Adhesion
Saturation treatment on both sides of paper prevents toner removal by scraping, tape or creasing.
Invisible Embedded Fibers
Yellow or blue fluorescent fibers are imbedded in the sheet and are visible only when the sheet is exposed to a black light.
Visible Embedded Fibers
Visible fibers are added to the paper when it is manufactured. They are placed randomly on the paper, on both the front and back side and can be different colors, densities and lengths. The fibers can be seen without the use of special equipment to ensure authenticity.
On Paper Security Features
Heat Sensitive Rx Symbol
The Rx symbol changes color when rubbed or heated.
Security Features Listing
Advises the recipient of the security features on the document. Allows the recipient to verify and reject it if the features do not match the listing.
Artificial Watermark
This technique creates a subtle reflective pattern visible when viewed at different angles. The image can’t be scanned or copied, or reproduced with digital printers.
VOID Pantograph
When an attempt to photocopy or scan is made, the “VOID” will show up on the copied or scanned check. This process is eflective against most black and white and color copiers.
Erasable Ink
Provides a clear visual indication if someone attempts to alter. If an attempt is made to alter the information by erasing it, the colored background disappears.
Micro-Printing
Extremely small type (.010) is typically used in the signature line. It appears as a straight line to the naked eye but can be verified under magnification. When copied or scanned, the type becomes a solid line.
Reverse Rx
Rx Symbol drops out when photocopied to appear white.
Border Warning
A warning is printed in the border advising that security features are on the check. It gives the recipient the opportunity to verify the check and reject it if the features do not match the warning description.
